The following is a list with descriptions of the Elizabeth Stampede Rodeo Committees to help Volunteers decide where they would like to work, where they feel they can make the best contributions, and where they think they can have the most fun.

For most of the Volunteers on committees like the Rodeo, Community Rodeo, Tickets, Facilities, Security/Parking, Hospitality, Entertainment, Stampede Store, and Vendors there are only occasional meetings, communications, and work during the Late Summer months that follow The Rodeo, and during the Fall and Winter months that lead up to the next year's Rodeo (It's a little more active throughout the year for the Leadership of those committees).

Volunteers on other committees like Royalty, Sponsorship, Advertising, Stampede Foundation, Web Site, Social, and Community Relations are fairly active throughout the year with regular meetings, communications and work. Starting in March, things pick up for all committees and their Volunteers. And of course Volunteers are very busy on the Rodeo Weekends for the Community Rodeo and Pro Rodeo. Then there are all the parties and social functions that are part of the fun of working hard as Volunteers.

I'm interesting in volunteering for the following:

Community Rodeo Committee Chaired by Janet Williams
The Elizabeth Stampede started out as a local Amateur Rodeo in the early 1950's and continued as such until The Rodeo went Pro in 1988. The Stampede stayed attached to its local Amateur Rodeo roots by holding the Amateur events between Pro Rodeo performance, eventually moving them to a separate two day Rodeo now called the Community Rodeo and held on a weekend before the Pro Rodeo. This Committee is responsible for putting on the Rodeo performances at the two-day Community Rodeo including planning, organizing and managing the timing and flow of the Rodeo Events, and everything that goes on in the Rodeo Arena. The Community Rodeo Committee works with the Livestock Contractor and other entities that help run the Community Rodeo events, as well as Sponsors, Vendors and others who are involved with and who support the Community Rodeo. Committee Volunteers help set up and get the Rodeo Arena and Rodeo Grounds ready for the Rodeo, help cleanup and shut down the Rodeo at its conclusion, and help with everything in between including in the Arena running the events, and working behind the Chutes and in the Pens sorting and preparing the Livestock for the events.
Royalty Committee Chaired by Angelique Dieker
The Elizabeth Stampede Queen and Attendant travel throughout the year to Rodeos, Fairs and other special events all over Colorado and Wyoming promoting the Elizabeth Stampede. This committee is responsible for publicizing, organizing and conducting the annual competition for the Stampede's Royalty Team. The Committee also organizes and arranges for the Royalty Team's appearances at regional Rodeos and local community events. Committee Volunteers accompany the Royalty Team on their appearances and work with the Royalty Team on fashion, makeup, horsemanship and public appearance communications skills. The Stampede's Royalty Team is The Rodeo's most visible image in our local communities and the Rocky Mountain Rodeo region.
Facilities Committee Chaired by Dennis Noland
Responsible for preparing, maintaining, repairing and upgrading the Rodeo Arena and surrounding Rodeo Grounds. In 2009, the Facilities Committee planned and completed almost three dozen projects that upgraded the spectator seating, buildings, livestock chutes and pens, the electrical and communications capabilities, and constructed an electronic scoreboard platform and handicapped seating area. The Facilities Committee is responsible for grooming the Arena Ground prior to and during every Rodeo performance. Committee Volunteers are on-call to repair and maintain Facilities during the Rodeo itself, and play a major role in shutting down, dis-assembling and locking down the Facilities at the end of the Rodeo.
Security & Parking Committee Chaired by Brad Hrabik
Responsible for planning, managing and staffing the security at the entry points to the Rodeo Grounds and Rodeo Arena. The Committee manages and coordinates the Contestant and Public Parking. The Committee also provides over-night Security for the Rodeo Arena, Rodeo Grounds and the Rodeo Livestock during the two days of the Community Rodeo and the three days of the Pro Rodeo. The Committee works with various community organizations to augment the Committee's volunteer staffing and work.
Hospitality Committee Chaired by Anita Schultz
This committee upholds a long Rodeo tradition at the Stampede that started more than 30 years ago. We were one of the first Rodeos large or small to provide home-cooked meals and snacks to the Rodeo Contestants and their families, a service that along with the additional prize money that the Stampede puts up and the quality of The Rodeo itself, is frequently mentioned by Top Competitors as the reason they put our Rodeo at the top of their lists. Home Cooked meals are prepared and served continuously from early morning to after the end of each Rodeo performance. Snacks, coffee and cold beverages are provided as well. The Hospitality Committee serves not only the Contestants and their families, but the Volunteers, Stock Contractor employees and Sponsors.
Web Site Committee Chaired by Pat Van Buskirk
Responsible for designing, managing and updating the Stampede's Web Site which is becoming an important information and marketing tool for The Rodeo. Our website gives us important data regarding what is of interest to Rodeo Fans and where our Rodeo "Customers" are coming from. Associated to the Web Site is our presence on Face Book and other on-line communication vehicles.
Entertainment Committee Chaired by Robyn Gipp
Responsible for planning and operating the Rodeo Beer Garden in cooperation with Coors Distributing and the Elizabeth Chamber of Commerce, and the Friday and Saturday night Rodeo Dances. The Rodeo Dances are part of the long Rodeo tradition at the Elizabeth Stampede, going back to the early days of Casey Jones Park and the first Amateur Rodeos in the 1960's. And Coors is a long-time National PRCA sponsor. Beer and Dances are as much a part of Rodeo as Bronc Riding, Bull Riding and Tie Down Roping.
Social Committee Chaired by Mindy Humphries
It's important that The Rodeo Volunteers enjoy their experience with the Stampede…in other words, Have Fun! Parties and Food are part of the Fun Formula. This Committee provides food and beverages for the various Volunteer events such as Rodeo Work Days, Board and Committee Chair Planning Meetings, and the yearly Rodeo Kickoff Party. The Committee's biggest event is the Holiday Awards Party for Volunteers, Sponsors, Committee Chairs and Board members near the end of November. Annual awards are presented to the MVPs for each Committee along with special awards from the Board to Outstanding Volunteers. Thank You gifts are also presented to the Sponsors. This is our best time to say, "Thank You!" to our Volunteers, their families, and to our Sponsors.
Stampede Store Chaired by Lynda Schuck
Responsible for designing, selecting, producing, obtaining and marketing the promotional merchandise for sale to the Public and members of the Rodeo Family including obtaining and provides the official Volunteer Stampede shirts. Apparel items and other retail-type merchandise is marketed to the Public at The Rodeo and other functions, and to the Stampede Volunteer Family. Stampede items are also marketed on-line through the Stampede's Web Site. Committee Volunteers assist in the planning, transporting, merchandising and selling of the Stampede Store items. We are always looking for volunteers to help sell official
Elizabeth Stampede merchandise during the rodeo.
Community Relations Committee Chaired by Traci Swisher
This Committee’s responsibilities are two-fold: Community Outreach and Public Relations

Community Outreach: Responsible for programs with the focus on maintaining and strengthening our relations with the City of Elizabeth, the Parks and Recreation Department, the Chamber of Commerce, the County Commissioners, the Schools and other important community organizations. The Committee represents The Rodeo at community organization meetings and functions, and in doing so promotes the Stampede, seeks support from the organizations, and protects the interests of The Rodeo while building understanding and rapport with the organizations. The Committee works with the schools to support their educational and community involvement efforts, and in doing so builds goodwill and involvement for The Rodeo. The Committee plans and manages the Stampede's local special events participation; plans, organizes and conducts the annual Rodeo Parade; and coordinates the selection and honoring of The Rodeo’s Pioneers (early or longtime Volunteers who have contributed much to the success and growth of the Elizabeth Stampede).

Public Relations: The Committee is responsible for the Public Relations for the Stampede’s Community and Pro Rodeos and the Elizabeth Rodeo Association. (The Elizabeth Stampede Foundation is a separate organization with a separate Public Relations function.) Two Committee individuals share theses responsibilities. The Committee Chair is The Rodeo’s initial spokesperson when contacted by news media, setting up contacts with specific Rodeo officials where appropriate. The Chair is also responsible for inviting media representatives to The Rodeo, issuing media credentials, and facilitating media coverage at The Rodeo including live TV broadcasts (KYGO Radio broadcasts are handled by the Advertising Committee). The Committee’s Press Release and Publicity Volunteer gathers pertinent information and interview comments regarding any and all newsworthy Rodeo events, happenings, actions, initiatives and other activities that should be publicized. To do this, the Volunteer has to have the prompt cooperation of all the Directors, Committee Chairs and other Rodeo Family members when detailed information and interview comments are needed. The Volunteer writes and disseminates all press releases to news media and assist the Committee Chair in handling news media requests for information, interviews and other related requests.

Ticket Committee Chaired by Sue Peck
Responsible for producing and selling the Rodeo admission tickets. The Committee works year 'round planning for the next year's Rodeo, striking a balance between what The Rodeo needs in Ticket Sales revenue and affordable prices that will attract the maximum number of Spectators. Special Ticket Packages and Marketing Plans are developed that include: Being visible at Community Events, producing a brochure containing pertinent information about the upcoming Rodeo, receiving and filling all on-line orders as well as phone orders, manning and working the Ticket Office location in downtown Elizabeth that opens in May, manning and working the Arena Ticket Booth and Gates on the Rodeo Grounds during the Stampede itself. The Ticket Committee works with several other Rodeo Committees: Advertising to promote Ticket Sales, Facilities as far as Spectator Seating arrangements, Security to insure that our guests enjoy their Rodeo experience, Sponsorship organizing all tickets that got to Sponsors and being informed from this committee as to who will be Ticket Sponsors. All other committees also work through the Ticket Committee for any complimentary ticket requests. The Ticket Committee is the "clearing house" for customer questions, concerns and issues that may arise. The Committee Volunteers have a thorough knowledge of all aspects of our Rodeo and can refer people to the right committee or person to take care of any situation. The Ticket Committee is also responsible for the day-to-day financial aspects of ticket sales once the Elizabeth Ticket Office location opens and at the Arena Ticket Booth, dealing directly with The Rodeo accountant. Last but not least, the Ticket Committee is our Rodeo's front-line Ambassadors.
Sponsorship Committee Chaired by Glenn Sweigart
The Rodeo could not survive without the financial support of local and regional businesses. Businesses recognize that sponsoring the Elizabeth Stampede is good for the communities they serve, good for their best customers - rodeo fans - and just plain good for business. Some of the Committee Volunteers work as an enthusiastic sales team prospecting for and soliciting Sponsor businesses. Other Committee Volunteers provide support in the form of marketing materials including the design, publishing and distribution of the Stampede's annual Magazine and Program. Still other Volunteers provide customer service support that includes tracking the sales progress and sponsor revenue accrual; obtaining and posting the Sponsor arena banners, signs and flags; providing the Sponsors with complimentary Rodeo Tickets and VIP passes; obtaining the Sponsor announcements that are made during each Rodeo performance and other support.
Vendors Committee Chaired by Bert Debroisse
Responsible for the Vendor Midway. Soliciting local and regional businesses who see an opportunity to market their goods and services to 8,000-10,000 rodeo fans that traditionally visit Elizabeth Colorado's many-time PRCA Mountain States Circuit Small Rodeo of the Year. The committee lays out the Vendor Midway, prepares the booth spaces, and meets the special needs of our Vendors including providing electrical power and other services. Committee Volunteers keep a visual presence on the Midway during The Rodeo to answers any and all questions from the Vendors and the public, and meet any needs that may arise. The Committee keeps communication lines open throughout the year with existing Vendors and prospective new Vendors.
Elizabeth Stampede Foundation
Committee Chair and Foundation Secretary

The Foundation Committee is looking for Volunteers interested in helping organize and execute fundraising events and activities, and Volunteers with experience in contribution solicitation and/or non-profit foundation experience.
Advertising Committee Chaired by Buddy Cox
Responsible for "getting the word out" about The Rodeo and it's many attractions. Following the advertising axiom" "More Exposure = More Results", the Committee's work contributes to generating the revenue we need from Spectator Ticket Sales, involvement of Sponsors and Vendors, and Charitable Giving. Media planning and creative message is the focus of this Committee. Various advertising and communication media are analyzed and selected for their effective reach of people living in Elbert County, Franktown, Parker, Castle Rock, and parts of rural Arapahoe and Adams County, who have a special interest in Rodeo. Media selection changes as the market changes but there is an important emphasis on KYGO Radio, Strategic Land Signage, Direct Marketing, Community Publications, and Emerging New Media. The best possible media buys are negotiated by all Committee members with their assigned media providers. Creative emphasis is on the continued building of the "Stampede Brand" through graphic design and copy content. All print advertising including publication ads, posters, and direct marketing pieces; as well as media press releases and other publicity are produced by the Committee's creative team . Emerging Media advertising (Internet Search Engines, Twitter, Face Book, etc.) is handled in concert with the Stampede's Web Site Committee.
