This year for Thanksgiving, the Elizabeth Stampede Foundation is giving full feasts to thirteen families who might otherwise not be sitting down to a warm turkey dinner with all the fixin’s.
Elizabeth Elementary School counselors helped identify families that would benefit from having a little help during the holiday. Says Elizabeth Stampede Foundation Founder and President Joanne Hoefer, “It is a privilege to assist these families by providing a Thanksgiving meal to them.”
Meals are prepared by the Elizabeth Safeway and come complete with turkey, stuffing, potatoes, vegetables, rolls and a pie.
Over the past four years the Elizabeth Stampede Foundation has provided nearly 60 families with Turkey-Day dinners that enables them to forget the challenges of the moment and celebrate being together. “I will enjoy my day tomorrow a little more, knowing that our Stampede Family cares about our community,” said Hoefer.
Elizabeth Stampede Foundation Board of Directors thanks the Elizabeth Safeway for a generous discount on the purchase of the groceries.
